Karen vanMeenhanKaren vanMeenen Director of Special Projects at Writers & Books, teaches poetry and writing workshops for adults and teens through W&B, the Arts & Cultural Council for Greater Rochester and other organizations. Karen holds an MA in Transformative Language Arts and is a Certified Poetry Therapist. She serves on the board of the National Association for Poetry Therapy where she is Publications Chair. She is Senior Editor of The Prodigy Review (our teen literary magazine) and for nine years editor of Afterimage , an acclaimed international journal of photography and film, recently edited the collection Giving Sorrow Words: Poems of Strength and Solace . She is a Certified Poetry Therapist and a facilitator for the “A Woman's Voice” project as well as an adjunct professor of writing and literature at RIT . Karen was bit by the travel bug during a college semester in London and never gets enough, flying to over eight destinations this year.
