Writers & Books 2003 Annual Literary Awards

Bill Kauffman to accept W&B 2003 “Sense of Place” Award

Join Bill Kauffman, winner of W&B 2003 “Sense of Place” Award, and a host of hometown authors at our Annual W&B Literary Awards, November 21, 7 pm at the Rochester Academy of Medicine, 1441 East Avenue.

The evening will include our annual awards presentations, a speech by Bill Kauffman, and a cocktail party where people can mingle with our award winners and purchase books.

W&B gives the “Sense of Place” award each year to a nationally recognized author whose work evokes a strong sense of place, either real or imagined.

This Year’s W&B Literary Award Winners:
 

  • Camy Sorbello [ bio] [ web site ]
    A teacher of adults who has inspired the creation and appreciation of literature
     
  • Marcy Gamzon
    A teacher of writing for young people
     
  • Linda Sue Park [ web site ]
    A writer whose creative work has had an impact on Rochester audiences
     
  • Jack Garner
    A writer whose journalistic work has had an impact on Rochester audiences
     
  • Bill Heyen
    An individual who has made life-long contributions to the Rochester literary community
     
  • Bruce Wilbur [ bio]
    An individual who has generously donated time and talent to Writers & Books
     
  • Blackstorytelling League
    An organization for significant contributions to the Rochester literary community
     
  • Bill Kauffman
    The recipient of our National “Sense of Place” Award, author of
