2003—If All of Rochester Read the Same Book…

Call for Work: Kindred

Poets Respond to Kindred

As part of the “If All of Rochester Read the Same Book…” project and in celebration of National Poetry Month in April, Writers & Books is publishing a chapbook of poetry from local readers created in response to Octavia Butler’s novel Kindred. The chapbook will include works by writers, readers, community members and students participating in this community reading program.

To submit work to the chapbook, send ONE poem or prose poem (500-word maximum) to BY FRIDAY, MARCH 28 at 5:00pm. Works must arrive attached as Word files.

Please be sure to edit and proofread your work and include your name as you would like it to appear. Works will be included at the Editor’s discretion. You will be notified by email if your work is accepted and invited to attend the Reading and Publication Party, where the chapbooks will be available for sale.
