UNTITLED

sometimes I think we all just get too deep
too caught up in saying something poetic
too full of ourselves and how much more thought we think than anyone else
to actually see that all that deepness
all that poeticness
all of that thought
is really about something
as equally as it is
about nothing.
and sometimes we miss that the simple things
the simplest thoughts or heartfelt feelings
are only a matter of
nothing. no words at all.
you can’t dress up anything in someone else’s trousers.
you can’t say deep things and mean them all the time.
there’s got to be some time to just let go.
to realize what’s beautiful without having to acknowledge it.
or even thinking it. you
don’t have to do anything.
just feel it.
and say,
I love you.
but I’m just being poetic.
