THE OPENING

Faces watching you,
among a great expanse of color.
Watching them
   you see two different faces
   watching you from
   five vibrantly white walls.
child’s faces fill each corner.
a cat inspects its new findings.
while nearby,
   seashells rest from their
   long journey on
   ever turning waves.
tea kettles hang out like laundry.
while snow and leaves fall
   side by side.
in an ever blooming garden
a young lady gazes at
you from above.
   a young boy watches his
   mother’s work from
   across the hall.
Once
   blank
    walls
     are
      now
       filled
        with
         little
          pieces
           of
            lives.
The opening may begin.
