A CHILD'S EYES All I wanted was to be grown I thought I could be carefree and wild, Not knowing the consequences I'd have to be shown. And now I've reached that age for which I've longed, The age that all my dreams were to unfold, I find myself wishing that I still belonged, To the forgotten memories that have become so old. Life now is so complicated and in such disarray. I only wish that long ago I could have grasped, That life is more precious when lived in a simple way, And to live simply one must be naive, which cannot last. For only a child's eyes are able to view, The world with an awe I so wish I still knew. |
