a soldier cooks a fish.
War is over now.

The Jolly Vibrant Mushrooms

While the sharp, angry path meanders, a flamboyant yellow mushroom is left behind the bend. Its flat and speckled upper quadrant becomes an ornate canopy for the dirt and the ants who feast on its tiny pale stem. It seems the fungus is past its prime; its dangling affinities for the orange blazed trail fade gradually into utter contempt for the miserable life of an ugly fungus. One day, the gay yellow mushroom finally does die, as it seems to almost attract that stomping stag. Naturally, a red mushroom takes the spotlight.
