Our Reason
There’s a reason to all of us.
Old or new, there’s always a reason.
Our resolve may bash and break—
our resolve to discover our reason,
our meaning.
There are places to go
to be given a reason,
but the reason may
or may not be fulfilled.
I believe the prophecy is untrue—
Or, at least, that the prophecy shouldn’t be heard by those that it somehow affects.
If they listen to a prophecy,
they may do something completely different,
or even worse
they may let it affect them.
Affect their actions,
affect their lives.
If a prophecy is made
echoes may haunt its giver.
A prophecy is not the same as a reason.
A prophecy may tell of a life, long and lonesome.
But let not the shadows tease,
or shorten more satisfying Life.
The Sunlight
The sunlight is made purer
by the trees.
The light
Which, unshielded, is golden,
is white through the trees.
It is not bright
just white
not green
or even mottled
just white.
An even sheet of white.
