A Note From Our Director of Youth Education
Hello! Joyful words to you all, readers and writers!
It is such a pleasure to be back in our renovated building in the heart of the Neighborhood of the Arts. The whole block has a new look, with ARTWalk giving more pizzazz to our surroundings: a new playground next door, a giant cat and colorful horses springing up all around. Here I can imagine the energy of summer, abuzz with young voices!
Each of our writers who teach contribute a unique and lasting gift. This year, a grant from the Rochester Area Community Foundation has allowed us to support our teaching writers with paid, trained intern assistants who share our philosophy and methods.
Our participants are open-minded and empathetic; they are in love with language and always willing to try something new. They make a great peer-group for one another. This year we have added more all-day and two-week workshops, partly because the topics need the time, but also to foster that camaraderie. I am particularly enthused about Write Yourself Into History. Check it out!
We look forward to celebrating the writing of children and teens inspired and enriched by:
We hope you find something right for you. We are eager to hear from and meet friends old and new!
Sincerely,
Director of Youth Education and Community Outreach
