Classes & Workshops For Youth

Writers & Books' Summer Youth Programs
Creative Writing Day Camps & Workshops
for Children & Teens

Group Size
Workshops are limited to a total enrollment of 12 unless otherwise stated. Most workshops are lead by one writer and an assistant.
Instructors
Our instructors are successful adult writers who have a flair for teaching creativity to children. This is a large part of why parents almost always rate our workshops highly. Check the instructor bios linked to each workshop listing.
Special Features
For most weeks, mornings and afternoons are two separate workshops. We try to match them well, as most children and many teens take whole days (both workshops). Places are available for participants who, due to special interest, choose to attend only a morning or afternoon week-long workshop.
  • Supervision is provided continuously from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; supervision beyond these hours is available for a fee of $5 an hour.
  • Snacks and water for breaks are provided.
  • Participants bring their own lunches; refrigeration is available.
  • Participants use the playgrounds next-door for outdoor time over lunch.
  • Daily playground break-time or other outdoor activities are scheduled for each group.
  • Most workshops end with a publication and/or presentation.
