The universal truths found in stories encompass class, race, gender, religious, ethnicity, economic, political, geographic and social constraints. Stories effectively connect people in profound and valuable ways. Storytelling is about connection, helping people to take a risk and reveal something about themselves. In this workshop, participants will explore a woman’s life story in order to discover the lessons found there. Using story, we will recreate and explore the tradition of honoring elder women as the nurturers and educators for younger women, as well as their historic role as the supporters of the mental, spiritual and emotional\ health of the community.
